PARKING UPDATES FOR THE 2024/25 SEASON

NEW Canyons Village Parking Structure Begins Construction on March 17, 2025

During construction, the arrival and parking experience to Canyons Village will undergo some adjustments including a reduced number of surface parking stalls. Beginning on March 17, there will be additional signage and staff to help guests navigate these changes. All surface parking lots in Canyons Village will remain free this winter. Upper Village garage parking structures and designated spaces along W. High Mountain Road are still paid.

  • Arrival: Guests can arrive at Canyons Village via public transportation, ride share, or private vehicle. During construction, a reduced number of parking spaces will still be available. We recommend visiting Canyons Village by Park City’s robust public transportation network.

  • Drop Off & Pickup: The Drop Off & Pickup Area will be marked by a pink flag. Guests should drive to the Cabriolet lot and follow staff direction

  • Carpool: Vehicles with four or more people are eligible for convenient and desirable carpool parking in Lot 4 (Upper Lot). Follow Canyons Resort Drive towards Upper Village. Lot 4 will be marked with a light blue flag.

  • Day Parking: Parking attendants will be available to assist during the morning parking experience. A reduced number of parking spaces in the Cabriolet lot will be available during construction. Once the Cabriolet lot is full, attendants and signage will direct guests to available overflow lots. These lots will be connected via shuttle or walking routes to the base village.

  • ADA: Staff and signage will direct guests to ADA parking in the Cabriolet lot. Follow parking attendant directions once in the Cabriolet lot to designated ADA spaces.

  • Additional Options: Parking is unchanged at Park City High School (on weekends and holidays), and at Park-n-Ride locations like Richardson Flat and Ecker Hill.

Parking at Mountain Village

The Mountain Village base area has moved to a parking reservation system with elements of paid parking, free parking, and carpooling and transit incentives. Paid parking is a proven solution that reduces congestion and increases average vehicle occupancy, encouraging carpooling and public transportation. Reservation systems provide guests with the certainty of available parking at the time that is most convenient for them.

  • Parking reservations for the Mountain Village lots will be available for advanced booking starting November 8, 2024. Advanced reservations are required seven days a week for vehicles that are present in Main, First Time or Silver King parking lots between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.
  • The fee for paid reservations in these three surface lots is $28 per vehicle per day. Price includes all service charges.
  • After 1:00 pm, all surface parking is free and no reservations are required.
  • Reservations are free for cars with four or more occupants at all times.
  • Reservations are required from December 5, 2024 - April 1, 2025. Reservations are free from Dec 5 – Dec 12. Paid Reservations are required from Dec 13 – April 1.
  • The Mountain Village Parking Garage remains paid parking ($46 + fees) with reservations required every day. Reservations are available 72 hours in advance.

Guests looking for complimentary parking can make a free reservation to park a vehicle with four or more occupants at the Mountain Village base area. They may also choose from the Canyons Village base area or the alternative parking options listed below, all of which offer free, convenient transportation to both base areas. Park City's free bus system is a convenient way to access the mountain too, stopping right at the base of the resort. For information on the bus, view the Transportation & Shuttles tab above.

Why are you implementing paid parking reservations at Park City Mountain Village?
Our goal is to better manage the overall parking experience, which in turn will help alleviate congestion at our Mountain Village base area and in adjacent neighborhoods. The proposed program will provide assurance that there will be a parking space for guests who choose to drive. Parking reservations will ease arrival congestion in the mornings so guests will no longer need to leave hours before first chair to secure a parking space.

What are my options to park for free?
Reservations to park at Park City Mountain Village will be free for vehicles with four or more occupants. Free parking will remain available at the Canyons Village base area, Park City High School (on weekends and holidays), and High Valley Transit Park & Ride locations.

Do cars with four or more occupants get preferred parking?
Yes. Vehicles with four or more occupants will be directed to a preferred area. A reservation will still be required, but it will be free to make a reservation for a car with four or more occupants.

Where are parking reservations required?
Reservations are required in all three surface lots at Park City Mountain Village — Main, First Time and Silver King parking lots — as well as in the Mountain Village Garage, seven days a week from 12/5/24 - 4/1/25.  Reservations are free in our surface lots from 12/5 - 12/12. Paid Reservations are required from 12/13 - 4/1.

  • A reservation is required for any vehicle that is present in one of these lots between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm, regardless of the time the vehicle arrived.
  • Vehicles that arrive and depart prior to 8:30 am do not need a reservation. Guests who arrive in the early morning to uphill ski will be required to park in a designated area.
  • Vehicles that arrive prior to 8:30 am and stay on site into the enforcement window of 8:30am - 1:00 pm need a reservation.
  • Vehicles that arrive after 1:00 pm do not need a reservation.

When are parking reservations required?

  • A reservation is required for any vehicle that is present in one of these lots, or in the Mountain Village Garage, between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm, regardless of the time the vehicle arrived.
  • Reservations are required starting 12/5/2024 through 4/1/2025. Reservations are free from 12/5 – 12/12. Paid Reservations are required from 12/12 – 4/1.

When can I purchase my parking reservations?
Parking reservations can be purchased online starting noon on November 8, 2024.

How many parking reservations can I purchase at one time?
Each account may have a maximum of five (5) future reservations at any one time, capped on a rolling basis.

What if I am driving a rental vehicle and don’t have my plate information yet?
When you make your reservation, add your private vehicle license plate number to make the reservation. When you receive your rental car, login to your account and change your license plate number to match your rental car plates.

What if I am just dropping someone off? Do I need a reservation? Where is drop off?
Reservations are not required for vehicles that will not be using a parking space between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm. Drop-off area for general public is inside the Main parking lot, along the west side of the lot, parallel with Lowell Avenue. Participants in youth weekly programs may receive specific drop-off instructions through Park City Mountain Ski & Snowboard School or their specific program.

My parking reservation is from 8:30 am–1:00 pm. Do I need to leave my parking space by 1:00 pm?
No. To secure the parking spot you have reserved, you must arrive and park before 1:00 pm. You are welcome to stay as long as you would like on that day.

Are parking reservations needed overnight?
Reservations are not required after 1:00 p.m. and before 8:30 a.m. the following day. However, we do require vehicles to vacate our surface lots overnight to accommodate snow clearing and other operational needs. If you are staying in lodging on site, ask your hotel or lodging property about parking arrangements during your visit.

If I am staying at a hotel or condo at Park City Mountain Village, will I need a parking reservation?
If you are planning for any vehicle that is parked in any of the surface parking lots — Main, First Time or Silver King — at Park City Mountain Village, a reservation is required between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., seven days a week. Please work directly with your hotel or lodging property and they will advise.

What happens if I park in Main, First Time or Silver King parking lot , or in the Mountain Village Garage, without a reservation?
The fine for parking in Main, First Time or Silver King, or in the Mountain Village Garage, before 1:00 p.m. without a reservation will be $150. Repeat offenders will be subject to escalating penalties, including towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

If I am uphill skiing outside resort operating hours, do I need a parking reservation?
For our local uphill crowd, reservations are not required for vehicles that arrive in the early morning and depart prior to 8:30 am. Guests who arrive in the early morning to uphill ski will be required to park in a designated area.

What parking benefits do I receive for carpooling?
Parking reservations for our surface lots will be free for vehicles with four or more occupants. Vehicles with four or more occupants will be directed to a preferred area.

Why aren’t you offering a discount for vehicles with two or three occupants?
Our research shows that this pricing model, without incremental discounts, will be the most effective in reaching the goals of this program: to better manage parking at Park City Mountain and alleviate some congestion in the surrounding area.

Does my parking reservation guarantee a specific spot?
No. When you arrive to the Mountain Village base area, you will be guided to park in a way that maximizes our parking area and provides easy flow of arrivals. Vehicles with four or more occupants will be directed to a preferred area. Reservations will be verified after you park by scanning your car’s license plate and comparing it against existing reservations.

Is there a cutoff time to make a reservation?
No. Until reservations are sold out for a given day, you can make your reservation up to the time you arrive at the Mountain Village base area.

How are parking reservations verified once I have parked?
Reservations are verified by your license plate. There are no physical kiosks or booths to slow the flow of traffic as you approach or depart Park City Mountain Village.

Do I need a parking reservation if my child is enrolled in a multi-week program?
A reservation is not required for vehicles that arrive, park and depart prior to 8:30 am. For vehicles that will remain parked after 8:30 am, a reservation will be required.

How do I cancel my parking reservation?
Cancellations can be made for a refund until 8:00 am the morning of the reservation

What happens if I make a reservation and no-show?
If you no longer plan to use your reservation, cancel by 8am the day of your planned arrival. We reserve the right to restrict anyone’s ability to make future reservations if the reservation system is being abused or manipulated in any way.

Do I need a parking reservation if I have a lesson with Park City Ski & Snowboard School?
Yes. Any vehicle that will be parked in Main, First Time, or Silver King parking lot, or in the Mountain Village Garage, between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm – regardless of arrival time – will need a reservation.

I have an ADA/Disabled license plate or placard. Do I need to make a parking reservation?
Yes. There is an option to reserve an ADA spot for free. Enforcement on the day you park will be subject to verification of ADA plates or hang tag.

I have an electric vehicle and would like to charge while I park in the garage. Do I need to make a parking reservation?
Yes, all vehicles will need a reservation to park in the Mountain Village Garage.

Is there a designated area for bike parking?
Free bike parking is available inside the Mountain Village Garage on a space-available basis. Weather and conditions permitting, free outdoor bike parking may also be available on snow near the bottom terminal of First Time chairlift.
