Level Up your Skiing or Riding at Park City Mountain

Adults skiing with an instructor

This winter is the perfect time to level up your skiing or riding with a lesson from one of Park City Mountain's world-class ski and snowboard instructors.

Our instructors at Park City Mountain frequently get asked about how to level up from beginner to expert, and progress from green runs to black diamonds. There is nothing better than feeling the confidence to take on any trail or terrain in front of you, and it is more in reach than you think!

We might be a bit biased, but our number one piece of advice is to come spend a few days with our Ski & Snowboard School. Even if you are skiing or riding comfortably at any level, our instructors can take a closer look at your specific skills and craft an experience that will challenge you, bring out your best, and explore Park City Mountain’s vast terrain.

Park City Mountain is laid out for natural progression. We recommend beginners start at High Meadow Park, and once they feel comfortable linking turns, head to the Adventure Alleys across our mountain to experiment with groomed glade skiing. If you’re unsure where you fall – your instructor is the perfect guide -- they will take you to the terrain that matches your goals and give you plenty of opportunity to practice and polish so you can level up in a way that fits your abilities and preferences.

As you work on developing new skills and getting more comfortable with moguls, trees, ungroomed terrain, and more, don’t count out the green runs! Learning areas aren’t just for beginners - you can always use these areas for working on the skills you’ll apply to more advanced terrain.

Most importantly, advancing levels is a journey, and one we get to experience at the largest ski resort in the U.S., surrounded by breathtaking views and crisp mountain air. If you are having fun and trusting the process, you’ll advance quickly, and ultimately have a great time. Soon enough you’ll be skiing black diamonds or cruising through fresh snow on a powder day like a pro!Â
