Planning Ahead: How to Find Mountain Status Updates at Park City Mountain

Posted November 09, 2021

One of our top recommendations for having your perfect day on the mountain is simple: plan ahead! With our 7,300 acres of terrain, three base areas and ever-changing winter conditions, it’s always a good idea to plan ahead and check out mountain status updates to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience as you arrive at the mountain and kick off your ski day.

When an epic overnight snowstorm drops a foot of new powder on the mountain and we’re itching to hit the slopes, that can sometimes also mean:

  • Storm winds can cause holds or delays on some of our lifts
  • Ski Patrol has avalanche and safety mitigation work to do across the mountain, delaying the opening of some terrain and lifts
  • Everyone in town is as stoked to hit the snow as you are...and likely arriving at the mountain at the same time in the morning
  • The powder day excitement is palpable, and it’s going to be a day to remember out there on the slopes!

Here are the best tools to find information about real-time mountain conditions, terrain updates, lift status and more at Park City Mountain:

Or, track your stats from season to season including total vertical feet, lifts rode and resorts visited.

2021-22 Winter Safety Protocols
We remain committed to doing everything we can to help keep you safe this season, so you can focus on having a great time on the mountain! This season, our safety protocols are focused on indoor spaces. We will not have a mountain reservation system this season and will load lifts at normal capacity, optimizing guest movement around our resorts. Face coverings will be required in indoor settings, including in our restaurants, lodging properties, restrooms and retail and rental locations. Face coverings will not be required outdoors, in lift lines, or on chairlifts, unless required by local public health authorities. Guests ages 12 and over will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccinations to dine at our indoor, on-mountain cafeteria-style restaurants. Learn more on here.

Dining Reservations
Already dreaming of that epic burger and an ice cold beer? Like last season, we encourage you to book a reservation to eat at many of our on-mountain restaurants using our Time to Dine reservation platform. Reservations will open one day prior via the Dining Reservation page, the EpicMix app or through QR codes located on-mountain.
