A look back at oktoberfest 2019
Guests will be invited to enjoy German beer in the Bavarian Beer Hall, explore authentic fare in the Bavarian Market, listen to Oompah and Polka music, participate in traditional dance and stein lifting competitions, enjoy the Kids’ Kinder zone and much more. Entrance to Oktoberfest will be free and open to the public of all ages.

WHAT EXACTLY IS OKTOBERFEST?
Oktoberfest is the annual festival of beer, music and celebration of autumn. It's a time to bring out your lederhosen and dirndls and raise your steins to the most popular party in the world. Park City Mountain is hosting a weekend full of oompah parties with traditional German fare in Canyons Village. Festivities include brat eating, keg bowling and stein lifting contests, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing and Bavarian dancers.
WHERE DO I PARK?
Complimentary parking is available in the Cabriolet parking lot in the Lower Village (map). Ride the Cabriolet lift and you will arrive directly inside the event in Canyons Village. Upper Village parking is available on a more limited basis, so please plan to park in the Cabriolet parking lot. ADA parking will be available on a first come, first served basis in both the Cabriolet lot and Upper Village lots.
Don’t want to drive, no problem! Summit County also has an extensive and FREE public bus system. Please CLICK HERE for the Summit County/Park City transit schedule. Also, feel free to test out the Summit Bike Share, the e-bike system of Summit County/Park City. There is an e-bike hub located at the Canyons Village Transit Hub. For safety and ease of access, please carpool, utilize the bus system, e-bikes or ride share services. Summit County, Park City Police Department and Utah State Highway Patrol have zero tolerance and will enforce laws to the fullest.

HOW DO I GET TICKETS TO OKTOBERFEST AND THE CONCERTS?
Entrance to Oktoberfest and concerts is offered FREE of charge. No tickets are needed for entry. Please leave all pets at home. VIP Tickets are available here: LINK
IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
Oktoberfest is open to all ages and is a family-friendly venue. However, you must be 21 and older with government issued ID to enjoy the alcoholic beverages.
WHAT ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED WITHIN THE FESTIVAL VENUE?
- Large bags/backpacks
- Coolers
- Weapons of any kind
- Alcohol or drugs
- Bottles/glass containers
- Chairs
- Pets of any kind
**NOTE: All bags are subject to search at the discretion of security and event management
IS OUTSIDE ALCOHOL ALLOWED WITHIN THE EVENT VENUE?
No, all outside beverages are prohibited within the event perimeter. Beverages and food will be available for purchase within the venue.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
Dogs, and pets of any kind, are NOT allowed at Oktoberfest. Leave your furry friends at home and come enjoy the event.
OKTOBERFEST DOLLARS – THE OFFICIAL CURRENCY OF THE FESTIVAL |
WHAT ARE OKTOBERFEST DOLLARS?
Oktoberfest Dollars are the official currency of the event, and the only payment accepted throughout the venue. You can use a credit card or cash to purchase dollars at designated tents throughout the festival. Oktoberfest Dollars are valued at $1 or $5 and are available for purchase dollar for dollar. ATMs are available within the Oktoberfest venue near the restrooms and inside the Grand Summit Hotel.
CAN I RETURN MY OKTOBERFEST DOLLARS?
No. Oktoberfest Dollars are non-refundable. You can buy them as you need them and Oktoberfest personnel can help you determine the right amount that will be need throughout the day.
DOES OKTOBERFEST ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Credit cards are only accepted at Oktoberfest Dollar tents. Oktoberfest Dollars are the official currency of the event, and the only payment accepted throughout the venue.

HOW CAN I GET AN OKTOBERFEST STEIN?
Oktoberfest steins will be available for purchase at the Oktoberfest Dollar tents, while supplies last. Options for both 1L Oktoberfest ceramic steins and 0.5L Oktoberfest glass steins will be available. With each purchase of an Oktoberfest stein, your first beer will be complimentary.
DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A STEIN TO BUY BEER AT OKTOBERFEST?
No, you are welcome to purchase beer without an Oktoberfest stein.
Yes, all beverage stations will include water sales. You are also encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to be filled at any of the water stations within Canyons Village help reduce waste. Water fountains are available near the restrooms.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CONTESTS?
Designated frauleins will roam the Village each day to sign-up contestants. Entry is free of charge. Due to popularity, space is limited for all contests, except the Costume Contest.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THE COSTUME CONTEST?
Sign-ups are not required for the Costume Contest. On Saturday afternoon, anyone dressed in their best attire can come to the stage. There is no limit to the number of participants, so all are encouraged to come forward and celebrate in style.

The strong-willed and the strong-stomached battle it out to see who can devour the most Brats in two minutes. The competitor who wolfs down the most brats in the allotted time wins, not only an official Oktoberfest stein package, but also the title of Oktoberfest Bratwurst Eating Champion. Competitors must be at least 18 years of age to compete.

Have you ever bowled with a keg? Test your power and precision to hurl a keg on wheels down the lane at a pyramid of empty kegs. It’s not as easy as it seems to bring down the entire pile, and the champion of the day is crowned by total number of kegs knocked over. Competitors must be at least 21 years of age to compete. Winners receive an official Oktoberfest stein package.

The Stein Lifting Competition will test the arm strength and stamina of even the fiercest competitors. Your challenge: hold full beer steins - out from your body at shoulder level. The last person standing will take home an official Oktoberfest stein package! Competitors must be at least 21 years of age to compete.

Show off your best dirndls, lederhosen and Bavarian attire and be crowned “best dressed” of the weekend. Be sure to win over the crowd, as their support and response will determine the winners. There will be divisions for men, women and children. Winners receive an official Oktoberfest stein package. Oktoberfest stein package!
